Designed by Giopato & Coombes in 2015, the lamp takes its form from the isometric projection of a cube, developed into a solid rhombic dodecahedron composed of twelve equal rhombi. What began as a flat, abstract figure becomes a faceted volume that reads almost like a plane on the wall, a sculptural object that captures attention even before it is switched on.

Three of its surfaces are transparent and sand-blasted, while the rest remain opaque, creating a jewel-like contrast of textures. This combination produces a distinctive prism effect, casting sharp geometrical patterns of light across the wall. The interplay between the cast aluminium base and the sand-blasted pressed glass diffusor has been carefully engineered to balance volume and luminosity, resulting in both direct and diffused illumination. During installation, the orientation of Astro can be adjusted, allowing each placement to be tailored to the space and to maximise its luminous potential.

Crafted with Oluce's signature attention to Italian design and manufacturing, the Astro Wall Lamp is available in white or black, each finish enhancing the interplay between the opaque metal structure and the luminous glass facets. It is fitted for a single G9 bulb of up to 33W, making it a refined addition to both contemporary and classic interiors, where sculptural form meets functional light.
