Their furniture showcases a tradition, which started within the Danish Modern movement in the mid-1900s. This includes clean, pure lines, an organic feel, and high-quality craftsmanship. As such, NORR11’s lamps and other furniture pieces are ageless.
While based in Scandinavia, NORR11’s designers gain inspiration from all over the globe. This includes Chinese Ming Dynasty, irregular South Asian representations, American Shaker style of the 1800’s, and the Bauhaus style. The materials they work with also influence the brand’s designers, who place emphasis on the authenticity of the wood and brilliance of the carpentry.
NORR11 concentrates on superior quality, organic, and pure materials within their manufacturing. They maintain high craftsmanship standards and, as such, work closely with a select few producers. It is for this reason that the brand’s end products are exquisite and held in high-esteem for lengthy periods.
When it comes to their designers, NORR11’s two main ones are Knut Bendik Humlevik from Norway and Rune Krøjgaard from Denmark. They graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and School of Architecture in Copenhagen, respectively. Both are passionate about design, which is showcased in the lamps and other furniture pieces NORR11 creates.
