The world famous designer, George Carwardine was the chief designer for the Original 1227 Collection for Anglepoise. As an automotive engineer, George Carwardine stumbled upon a new formula for a spring prototype never used before. He created the blueprint for a pioneering articulated task lamp that would combine ultimate tractability with faultless stability. Two years later, the Original 1227 was launched.
With heritage inspired colors, a woven cable and authentic brass details the new aesthetic for this iconic Anglepoise design was created.
