The Catellani & Smith Atman was one of Enzo Catellani’s first projects. After a trip to India, in which he discovered holy oval stones, Catellani decided to combine all of India’s culture in the uniquely designed Catellani & Smith Atman.
“The basic rule that I’ve set for everything I do and that I’ve instilled in my collaborators is to put your heart and soul into what you’re doing.”—Enzo Catellani
As the first experiment by Enzo Catellani, the Catellani & Smith Atman was born from an idea that came by chance and magic. The Catellani & Smith Atman began with a trip to India. After coming in contact with the intense experience of a culture that combines silence, chaos, spirituality and misery, the idea for the Catellani & Smith Atman came to Catellani. It was in India that Catellani discovered the holy oval stones. After this, Catellani decided that he would recreate their same shape, in a glass form. The Catellani & Smith Atman got its name from an ancient Sanskrti word that means “soul.”
The Catellani & Smith Atman projects its light on the wall, bringing serenity and chaos together in a beautiful display of light.
The Catellani & Smith Atman is an oval crystal glass with a nickel plated base. The light source is an interchangeable LED 1x1W / rated output 1W 350mA / energy class A+ / lumen 100 / K 2700 / CRI 80 bulb (included). The Catellani & Smith Atman is 16 cm in width and 8 cm in height.
