Ingo Maurer, also called poet of light, was a German lighting designer and artist. He converted scrap (goose-feather wings, broken crockery, tea strainers, etc.) into artful lighting fixtures. He set up his manufacturing firm in 1963 to give life to his exceptional designs. Some of his wonderful creations are winged Lucellino, YaYaHo, Porca Miseria, and the Zettel'z pendant lamp, to name a few.He is also known for his unusual, catchy product names – Bulb, EL.E.DEE., “Wo bist du, Edison” (Where are you, Edison?), etc.
Ingo Maurer Glatzkopf Floor Lamp is based on his design from 1981 andtook shape in 2017. It is a uniquely designed, non-dimmablefloor lamp. A large, glass bulb is attached to a rod and base plate. A lampshade sits on top of the bulb and has a hole in the center. The lampshade has a quirky, lopsided shape. It gives the appearance of a cap, making it a coolcreation.
The lampshade is made of tough cardboard and glass. It is available in green, black, and white colors. The base plate made of metal, has 3 holes using which the lamp can be fixed at different angles. The height of the rod can also be adjusted. The paper shade and the tilting rod enable the concentration of light where required, downward. The glass bulb is sandblasted on the top and emits a soft glow upward. Half-frosted, LED string lamps are also provided. On the whole it serves it purpose effortlessly with its top-notch design.
