“Poul Henningsen, designer, was born in Copenhagen. He never graduated as an architect, but studied at The Technical School at Frederiksberg, Denmark from 1911-14, and then at Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914-17. He started practicing traditional functionalistic architecture, but over the years, his professional interests changed to focus mainly on lighting which is what he is most famous for.”
The Louis Poulsen NJP Wall fixture is pure effectiveness. The space saving wall fixture provides a direct, glare-free, horizontal light. It does this while reflecting some of the light through the rear of its head, illuminating the top of the arm. The wall fixture has an ergonomic design. The head shapes and morphs the light to give a more optimal light direction. The Louis Poulsen NJP Wall features a simple mechanical system which provides great freedom of movement, in order to point the light in the desired direction. The shade is painted white on the inside in order to reflect the light more comfortably as a diffused light.
The Louis Poulsen NJP Wall is available in white, black, light alu grey or dark alu grey, powder coated finishes. The arms, wall bracket and lamp head are made of aluminum, the joints are made of anonized aluminum. It is available in two sizes:
• 150 mm width, 600 mm height, 600 mm length and a maximum weight of 1.5 kg
• 150 mm width, 200 mm height, 300 mm length and a maximum weight of 0.8 kg
