The Italian partners, Daniele Huzza and Silvana Angeletti, have engaged from an inspirational few of their own heritage, including Gino Sarfatti, Colombo and the Castiglioni brothers. Contrary, however to most of their inspirational pieces, the duo uses Lys to resonate and create a simple, yet sophisticated and elegant piece.
The build of the lamp is based in tripod fashion, drawing from three legs for equilibrium, it thins out in the form, which gives it the functionality and proper placement (possible anywhere because of the diameter). The shape of Lys makes convenience a forefront in its description, and placement at the bottom of the list in importance. It is suitable to fit anywhere at any time.
The LED version of the Oluce Lys Floor lamp comes with dimming feature pertained to its voltage, and its pliably durable. There is also a methacrylate disc placed on top of the LED lighting, which creates a halo effect of light at the top of the lamp. There is also a suspended version available, which offers other possibilities through innovative design. The lamp comes in white or black, with metal diffuser and structure.
“Established in 1945 by the master Giuseppe Ostuni, Oluce is the oldest Italian lighting design company that is still active today. They have had great success throughout their history by winning many prestigious design awards.”
