A small porcelain vessel, archetypal in its shape, rests atop a wooden pedestal whose silhouette recalls the plinths traditionally used in classical sculpture.

Beyond its sculptural presence, the base serves a precise function: it houses the cylinder that holds the water for the vase above. This interplay between structural base and delicate vessel creates what Gilad describes as a hyperbolic hybrid, a deliberate tension between the oversized pedestal and the diminutive porcelain top that gives the piece its distinctive character.

Crafted from beech wood and porcelain, the Pedestal Vase No. 2 combines natural materials with refined craftsmanship, resulting in an object that is as much a study in form as it is a functional table accessory.

Compact in size yet bold in concept, this piece belongs to Danese Milano's collection of table accessories, where everyday objects are reinterpreted through a lens of conceptual design. Its exaggerated proportions and material contrast make it a striking addition to any surface, whether displayed alone or alongside other pieces from the same series.

A thoughtful blend of wit and craftsmanship, the Pedestal Vase No. 2 reflects Ron Gilad's distinctive approach to design, one that challenges expectations of scale and form while remaining rooted in function.
