Designed by the renowned Joe Colombo in the late 1960s, the Basket Collection reflects his vision of functional, innovative and future-facing design, and Gubi's edition honors it with a refined materiality, a gently retro look and inviting comfort.

The name pays tribute to the classic hand-weaving technique used in rattan basketry. Each piece is covered with a skin of interlaced strips and oval stakes, a technique that demands a great deal of skill and craftsmanship. Underneath, the core is formed from a steel skeleton, which replaces the fiberglass shell Colombo originally used. This more environmentally responsible construction gives the unique form its strength and stability. The collection also includes a two-seater sofa and a lounge chair, all sharing the same construction.

This three-seater is fully upholstered and sits on a rattan base, giving the sculptural silhouette a warm, tactile character that works as a statement in living rooms, lounges and hospitality spaces alike.

Choose from a selection of upholstery options to suit your interior: Sunday, Dedar (002), Lorkey, Limonta (40), Mumble, Glamour Group (40) and Belsuede Special FR, Dedar (133).
