hay-crate-low-table
Hay Crate Low Table

The Crate Low Table by Hay is a modern reinterpretation of a design classic. Gerrit Rietveld originally conceived the Crate Collection in 1934 to make use of surplus wooden shipping crates, and this relaunch, a Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration, stays true to that heritage. The table keeps the same precisely balanced proportions and transparent construction of the original, an approach that keeps production costs down and makes assembly straightforward.

With its low profile, square tabletop and diagonal crossbars, the table reflects the architectural thinking of its designer. Its open, honest structure offers function and comfort without taking up visual space, making it an easy companion to a sofa, lounge chair or outdoor seating area. The standing height is 40 cm, and the table comes in two sizes: L45 x W45 cm as a compact side piece, and L75.5 x W75.5 cm for a more generous surface suited to a central coffee table role.

The table is crafted in solid pine and finished with a water-based lacquer, which lets the wood grain remain part of the character. Five colour options are available: Black, Iron red, London fog, Natural pine and White. Whether you prefer a bold accent or a softer, natural tone, there is a finish to suit your space.

Suitable for a wealth of outdoor settings, the Crate Low Table is also part of the wider Crate family, which includes dining and lounge pieces, so it can be combined into a coordinated look. Rietveld's mission of creating well-designed, affordable furniture for the many continues here in a form that is simple, durable and timeless.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0659/2646/3734/files/Crate_Low_Table-life-3e9e94f5_ce03_44f8_905e_cfa3cc327ff7_Crate_Low_Table_imagesl.jpg?v=1793220059
