Based on a design built and decorated with materials in their natural state, it features a deliberately uneven and irregular form, giving each piece a distinctly organic character.

The collaboration between Hay and designer Jessica Hans translates her abstract, nature-led aesthetic into a functional object with a unique, hand-painted surface. Offered in a monochrome black and white colourway, the vase has a graphic, sculptural presence that sets it apart from conventional vases.

Equally at home holding fresh flowers or standing alone as a decorative ornament, the Shadow Vase works as both a practical vessel and a considered accent for shelves, sideboards, coffee tables and other styled surfaces in the home.

Jessica Hans graduated with a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Art from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012, focusing on textile design and ceramics. She now runs her artist studio in Philadelphia, creating ceramic art and products for customers in the US and abroad. Her work draws on the naturally occurring pattern and texture of rock and earth, combined with familiar motifs from modern design. She intends her pieces to serve a purpose, such as displaying beautiful flowers, while also existing independently as art objects.

The Shadow Vase is part of a series of vases Jessica has designed for Hay, the Danish brand known for accessible, contemporary design. A thoughtful choice for anyone who appreciates artisanal character and understated graphic expression in their interior.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0659/2646/3734/files/Jessica_Hans_Shadow_Vase-pk-AB426_A963.jpg?v=1793257429
