Designed in 2012 by Moritz Waldemeyer, Ingo Maurer and team, it uses modern LED technology to recreate the mesmerising flicker of a real flame, based on actual video material of a burning flame.

At its heart are two displays with 128 dimmable LEDs each, which together simulate the natural, ever-changing movement of fire with remarkable realism. The result is a warm, atmospheric glow at 2700 K with a CRI of 80. Each 5 Volt, 0.6 W LED is rated for up to 50,000 hours of life, so the effect can be enjoyed for years to come.

The slender circuit board measures 430 x 30 x 3 mm and rests on a compact base of 90 x 90 x 25 mm. The circuit board is available in black, red or white, allowing the lamp to blend discreetly into a setting or add a quiet accent of colour. A switch and control LED are integrated into the base, and the flame's intensity and speed can be fine-tuned with a button on the circuit board, so you can shape the mood to suit the moment.

Flexible in use, the lamp runs on 4 x NiMH AA batteries (not included) or via the supplied 150 cm black USB-C cable. This makes it easy to place on a shelf, side table or dining table, whether for a calm evening at home or a memorable tabletop setting. Safe, flameless and endlessly fascinating, My New Flame brings the intimacy of firelight into contemporary interiors.
