vaarnii-osa-outdoor-dining-chair
Vaarnii Osa Outdoor Dining Chair

The Vaarnii Osa Outdoor Dining Chair (013) by Henrik Tjaerby is explicitly functional and purposefully elemental. Made from heat-treated pine that can withstand the harshest environmental conditions, it is designed to accompany the Osa Outdoor Table, sharing the same distinctive proportions and seating planks.

With its grounded stance and broad surfaces, this low-profile outdoor chair combines presence with subtlety. Its understated form and solid construction make it a reliable companion for long days outside, robust enough to endure seasons of weather and use, summer after summer.

The chair is crafted from PEFC-certified Finnish heat-treated Scots pine, Lunawood ThermoWood®, a non-toxic material produced using only heat and steam. Each piece is finished with a clear outdoor wood oil for added protection against the elements. Handmade in Finland by Puulon in Padasjoki, it measures 48 cm in length, 48 cm in width and 78 cm in height and weighs 10.1 kg.

Once exposed to daylight, the wood begins reacting to UV light and gradually develops a beautiful silver-grey patina, reaching its final colour after approximately two years outdoors. As a softwood, pine will pick up small dents and scratches over time, and natural surface cracks may appear as the wood responds to temperature and moisture. These do not affect structural strength and give each chair its own increasingly distinctive character. Regular care is recommended to help it age beautifully.

Henrik Tjaerby, who trained at the Danish Design School and now works from his studio and workshop in Spain, is known for a straightforward design language that hides nothing. Every Vaarnii product comes with a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0659/2646/3734/files/Osa_Outdoor_Dining_Chair-Default_Title.jpg?v=1791930519
