Rotaliana String by Dante Donegani & Giovanni Lauda
Designed by Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda in 2011, String pairs an industrial idea, the balanced arm, with a playful detail: the coloured string that holds it. The 9 W LED head turns freely and dims from a touch switch, either across colour temperature (Tunable White, 2200 to 4000 K) or warming as it dims (Dim-to-Warm). Table, floor, wall and ceiling versions share the same matt black or matt white structure and orange, black or silver string.
String is Rotaliana's family of LED reading lamps, designed by Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda in 2011. Two extruded-aluminium arms are held in balance by an elastic cable sheathed in orange, black or silver fabric, so the head can be moved with a fingertip and stays where you leave it. The range covers the T1 table lamp, the F1 floor lamp, the W0, W1 and W2 wall lamps and the H0 wall or ceiling spot, each in matt black or matt white with a Tunable White or Dim-to-Warm LED.
