Gubi Silk Lantern Lamps

Designed in 1951 by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen but never put into production until Gubi revived it in 2026, the Silk Lantern pairs Japanese-inspired lightness with Danish modern clarity. The family covers a floor lamp, a pendant and a wall lamp. Each carries the same cylindrical shade of natural white silk framed by walnut veneer rings, held by a slim black lacquered steel structure that gives the lamp a floating appearance.

The Silk Lantern by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen is a lighting family in natural silk, walnut veneer and black lacquered steel. Designed in 1951 and brought into production by Gubi for the first time, it comes as a floor lamp, a pendant and a wall lamp, each with the same cylindrical shade that diffuses the light into a soft, intimate glow.
