Vipp is a Danish design brand with roots dating back to 1939, when Holger Nielsen crafted a pedal bin for his wife Marie’s hairdressing salon. What started as a practical, durable solution quickly grew beyond its original purpose, becoming an enduring design classic recognized for its functionality and timeless industrial aesthetic. Over the decades, the pedal bin found its way from Danish salons and clinics into homes around the world, ultimately being inducted into the permanent design collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 2009. Still family-owned and led by the founder’s descendants, Vipp has evolved from a single product into a full design universe. Its collection now includes kitchens, furniture, bathroom modules, lighting, and accessories, all carrying forward the same principles of craftsmanship, durability, and functional beauty. Today, Vipp continues to embody the spirit of modern Danish design, blending heritage with innovation while staying true to its original vision of creating objects built to last.
