The zoom of Zapa Focus, on a spike that goes straight into a border. Turn the head and the beam widens or narrows anywhere between 20° and 50°, so the same fixture can wash the whole crown of an olive tree or pick out a single sculpture.
The spike is 500 mm long: 300 mm stands above the soil, 200 mm goes into the ground, and the Ø 32 mm brass head sits on top with 1.5 m of cable. Set the light on site, in the dark, until the scene looks right.
Solid raw brass that patinates with the seasons. The driver stays outside the fixture, within easy reach, and every part is available separately: repairing beats replacing.
Fixtures made to be handed down.
