From Navy Pendant to Doo-Wop
Louis Poulsen designed this unique and practical pendant lamp in the 1950s in collaboration with the Navy. So for years you could find the lamp in canteens and offices of the Navy and was also known as the Navy Pendant. In the 1980s, the lamp went out of collection, but was reintroduced in 2012 now under the name Doo-Wop.
With the reintroduction, the Doo-Wop got a dark grey and white version, as well as the original brass lampshade. Later, copper and stainless steel were added. The lampshades are still turned by hand to achieve the delicate curve that gives the special optical volume. The brass version is particularly challenging, as it is turned from solid brass and looks brightly polished.
The Doo-Wop is an elegant pendant lamp that radiates harmony , its specific design gives character and a personal touch to any room. The Doo-Wop can be hung over the dining table, kitchen, in the living room or even over a bedside table. Hangs beautifully on its own, and can add even more life in a row or cluster.
